Big Bear at St. Barnabas!

Big Bear at St. Barnabas!

We are delighted to welcome Wyrley McBear Face to St. Barnabas. Anyone visiting the Church Centre over the summer will see Wyrley sitting outside by the front doors. You can’t miss him, he is so colourful and we all love him!

Welcome Wyrley McBear Face

Wyrley McBear Face is part of the Big Sleuth Project, where 100 bears have been unveiled across Birmingham.  Each of these bears is unique in its design, and for the next 9 weeks will form a trail around the city before being auctioned off with all funds raised going to the Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Wyrley McBear Face will be spending 10 weeks in total over the summer in Erdington and is then planned to take up residence at the Velvet Community Orchard at Witton Lakes, B23 7XX.  He is named after the Wyrley Birch Estate and, as such, it is only right that he should move to the area – as his permanent home.

Wyrley has been brought to Erdington thanks to the sponsorship of Witton Lodge Community Association (WLCA). He has been painted by West Midlands Artist ‘DJ’, with fantastic designs from talented Becky Cresswell and members of our local community.

You can find lots more information about all the bears in Birmingham, including where to access the App and Bear Trail, at www.thebigsleuth.co.uk

Come along and visit Wyrley and help raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital – see you soon!

PS: Just in case you weren’t sure, Sleuth is the name for a group/pack of bears.
