At St. Barnabas we are dedicated to building a strong relationship with the communities we serve.
We are proud to work closely with a range of local and national organisations including charities, colleges, local authorities, health and welfare groups, local schools and the Princes Trust.
This section gives more information about some of the partners we currently work with.
It’s important to us to keep on learning from and be a part of the community and we are always keen to hear from any organisations or groups who would like to get involved with St. Barnabas.

Church of England
St. Barnabas Church and Erdington Parish sit within the Diocese of Birmingham, headed up by Bishop David, who leads the Church of England across the Diocese. The Birmingham Diocese covers an area of nearly 300 square miles and includes parishes in the West Midlands including Birmingham and parts of Solihull, Sandwell, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
St Barnabas Primary School
We enjoy a very close association with the school and The Reverend Freda Evans, our vicar, is Chair of the school’s Board of Governors. She holds regular school assemblies, gets involved in activities and supports their admissions policy.
John Taylor Hospice
St. Barnabas has long-standing relationship with the John Taylor Hospice, a major hospice care provider in the area. We work with them to promote their League of Friends and help reach more people with their messages. The Hospice also hires the Centre’s Lighthouse Conference room to host events.
Birches Green Infant & Junior School
We work closely with many local schools and both Birches Green Infant and Junior Schools regularly attend St. Barnabas Church as part of their religious education programmes and at key times of the year such as Christmas and Easter.
Erdington Town Centre Partnership
As we are at the very heart of the Erdington community, the welfare and continued development of the area is very important to us. The Town Centre Partnership plays a key part in driving positive change forward and we enjoy playing our part.
The Lighthouse at St Barnabas is a lovely modern, bright and airy venue that met our needs perfectly. The team were accommodating, making us feel very welcome and ensuring our needs and those of our delegates were met throughout the day.
