Bell Ringing - would you like to try it?

The St.Barnabas Church Erdington Bell Ringers meet:  Every Tuesday 7.15pm – 8.45pm and/or every second Saturday of the month from 10.00am – 11.30am.

Bell ringing is a fun and sociable activity which has the added bonus of helping you to keep fit!

Some people like the idea of bell ringing but are not sure whether they could do it or not. Well don’t worry, bell ringing is well within the capabilities of most people.  Simply being able to count is all the maths you’ll need and you can become a very good ringer without knowing anything about music.  You just need energy, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

Ringers come from all walks of like and learn at different ages.  We always welcome new members from age 10 upwards.

As well as taking part in the weekly group, we ring bells for the Sunday Service and occasionally for weddings and funerals.  You don’t have to commit to every Sunday, we alternate within the group to suit people’s diaries.  Beginners usually learn bell ringing for a few weeks before ringing for the Sunday Service so there’s no pressure if you are new!

Come and try a new hobby to keep a traditional skill alive and help to ensure the bells of St. Barnabas Church chime for many years to come.
