Urgent donations required for Erdington Foodbank

During the pandemic, there has been an increasing number of people needing help from Erdington Foodbank.  Demand was already high before the pandemic but now the queues have increased significantly and the Foodbank urgently needs donations to make sure they can keep going and be there for those in need.

Chris West from the Foodbank has sent this update and appeal and information about how you can donate:

Hi everyone. Foodbank news again! This week bags of food etc were given to 278 adults and 140 children  at George Road Baptist Church and Sixways Baptist Church.   For those who are new to what we do…donations of food, toiletries and cleaning materials can be taken to George Road Baptist Church on Mondays and Wednesdays between 10.00am and 12.00pm or Fridays between 11.00am and 1.00pm. Outside of these hours you can drop your donation at 295 George Road any time.

If you are unable to deliver I can arrange for someone to collect (ring 07892 678554).
If you would like to donate money visit erdington.foodbank.org.uk

If you are in need of help yourself please ring 07476 83927 .

We especially need sugar, tinned meat, rice pudding, custard, coffee and cereals.

Thanks to all our amazing regular or occasional supporters. Without your donations we could not do what we do. I think the folk who are working tirelessly at George Road and Sixways throughout each week deserve a medal, don’t you?    Chris West.

Please do donate if you can, this is a vital local resource and any help given will be much appreciated.  Thank you!
