Happiness in the sun!

Wow! Could we have asked for better weather for our Summer Fete?  It was sunny and warm and wonderful and the fete was a great success on Saturday (29th June).

We had some fabulous stalls, fun games, a BBQ and Caribbean food, cakes, live folk music by Claret and jazz by Rhythm & Bone and exhibitions by Erdington Historical Society and Erdington Arts Forum.

The day started with the church bells ringing and the Hand Bells group also did a demonstration.

Amongst the crowds we were delighted to welcome Jack Dromey MP and Councillor Robert Alden and Councillor Gareth Moore.

Some kind people were happy to get soaking wet in the Stocks which was great fun (for the one’s throwing the sponges that is!).

The Cafe was busy all day too and there was a great atmosphere and feeling of community all round.

Our grateful thanks go to everyone who made the day possible namely the stall holders, exhibitors, musicians, staff and volunteers and a big thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event.

Here’s to next year!
