  • Full Building & Churchyard
    Saturday 16th August 2025
    10am-3pm

St Barnabas Church is a well-used space with lots of activities happening all the time. As such, it occasionally needs a deep clean to complement the regular cleaning done by our wonderful cleaners, Laverne and Stephen.

We are looking for volunteers to come and help either for the morning slot (10am-12pm) or the afternoon slot (1pm-3pm) to help give the church a good clean and tidy.

As part of the day, we will also be organising a litter pick around the churchyard and tackling a few small maintenance tasks.

Cleaning materials will be provided, but please wear suitable clothing.

If you are able to help, please let Steve know at opsmanager@stbarnabaserdington.org.uk or sign up on the sheet at the back of church.

    Monday 1st September 2025

We believe God is calling us into deeper prayer for our city, churches, and communities. The Bishop’s Prayer Network will bring together at least 24 committed intercessors (and many more are welcome) to pray regularly for lives transformed, justice restored, and the name of Jesus lifted high across Birmingham and beyond.

Those who join will take part in four Prayer Weeks each year, including 24-hour prayer vigils, and be ready to respond in times of urgent need. This is about making prayer the heartbeat of our diocese.

Join us for the launch event as we pray together, hear the vision, and renew our commitment to God. Whether you're an experienced intercessor or simply sensing a call to deeper prayer, all are warmly invited. Open to all traditions.

The Mothers’ Union movement was founded in 1876 by Mary Sumner to support family life through faith, fellowship, and action. We have an active branch here at St Barnabas, and we’d love for you to be a part of it.

Join us on the first Tuesday of each month at 2pm in the chapel for prayer, a hymn, a topic of discussion, and a cuppa! Gatherings are all-inclusive, men and women, welcoming everyone who wishes to join.

If you are currently on the welcome rota or are interested in joining the welcome team, we would love for you to join us for a training morning led by Erol and Becky (our Churchwardens) and Emma (our Vicar).

We believe that a warm welcome plays a vital role in church life. It helps people feel seen and valued, and it reflects the radical welcome God offers to each of us. This session will be a chance to revisit why welcome matters and explore how, when done well, it can help the church grow.

    Tuesday 30th September
    10am-1pm
